HOSTEL

FOREWORD….

Hostel is a unique place where children learn to co-exist. It is here that the students are expected to learn team spirit, self confidence and friendship. At a young age, the students are taught to respect each other, be self-reliant and above all, live a disciplined life.

This is a home away from home. Away from their parents, they learn to live the life of their own, but, within the guidelines set by the hostel authorities.

The parents of the hostel students are expected to follow the rules set by the hostel and respect the same. They should understand the limitations the authorities have and make the children understand these to enjoy a better life in the hostel.

Hostel is not a place for leisure and luxury. The parents should not force their children to stay in the hostel. Instead, they should convince their wards the need for such stay. This would help the children to understand and adjust better to the environment around the hostel.

ADMISSION AND WITHDRAWAL

There are only limited seats available in the hostel. Therefore, the admission is on ‘first come first served’ basis.
The right of admission solely remains with the school and hostel managements.

At the time of admission, the parents are requested to inform the hostel of the complete medical history of the student, especially if the child is suffering from any major illness/ genetic disorders/behavioral problems etc. Any efforts to suppress these, if found, will be seriously taken.

The student once admitted shall not be withdrawn from the hostel during the current academic year. However, if the parents still wish to withdraw their ward, they will be permitted only after the payment of full year’s fees.

HOSTEL FEES

The parents are requested to pay the fees, as prescribed, in time. The late fee penalty will be applicable in the event of delay in the payment. Any long delay will necessitate removal of student’s name from the hostel roll.

The purchase of any items such as books, uniforms, dresses, toiletries etc will be made upon request form the students and the cost of such purchases will be debited to their account. If this is not acceptable to the parents, they may give specific instructions to the hostel warden.

HEALTH CARE AND HYGIENE

In case of any minor ailments, a qualified medical practitioner will treat the hostel students and the cost of such treatment will be debited to their account.

In all other cases, the student will be hospitalized and the parent/guardian concerned will be informed. The cost of hospitalization including medicines will be recovered from the Parents.

If the student is suspected of any communicable disease, he or she will immediately be quarantined and the concerned parents will then have to take their wards out of the hostel without any delay. He/She will be re-admitted to the hostel only after he or she is completely cured and there is no threat of the disease being passed on to the fellow inmates.

Any self-medication without the knowledge of the Warden is considered as an offence.

FOOD

Vegetarian food will be served in the hostel.
For non-vegetarians egg will be provided twice a week and non-veg lunch once in 15 days.
Fruits will be provided twice a week.

LAUNDRY SERVICE

Washing of clothes will be done in the hostel. But the facility for hand washing of clothes is provided free of charge to all the students. The students are requested to use this facility sparingly. However, the students are required to wash their undergarments themselves. Uniforms and other dresses which require ironing will be done outside and the cost will be debited to the account.

WATER SUPPLY

Hot water, if required, will be provided for bathing only. Round the clock normal water supply is available for all other purpose. However, the students should understand that water is a precious resource and conservation of water is of utmost priority in the days to come.
